Shoulder Opener – Day 1

Welcome to day 1 of the shoulder opening challenge – Arms overhead forward fold.

I use this pose a lot when my shoulders feel super tight. In order to get into this pose either watch the video or follow the steps written out below.

Instructions:

  1. Stand straight with your arms at your side. Relax your shoulders. Feet can either be hip distance or right next to one another.
  2. Place your hands behind your back.
  3. Interlace your fingers.
  4. Bend your knees slightly with the weight of your body in your heels.
  5. Bend at the hips drawing your belly to your thighs. And as you do this, bring your hands up over your head until you feel a nice stretch in your shoulders. Do not jerk your shoulders/arms over head. Nice and slow.
