Flavorful and Crispy Fried Chicken

There is nothing more comforting than biting into a hot, crispy piece of fried chicken. Fried chicken has to be one of my favorite foods in the entire world. I mean, its THAT good! Today I am going to share one of my go to recipes when I want a really good piece of fried chicken, from home. I hope you love it as much as I do.

1 Drumstick per person or more 🙂

Ingredients:

6-8 chicken drumsticks

Vegetable oil for frying

1.5 cups flour

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp paprika

Adobo seasoning

2 eggs

  1. Pour oil into a dutch oven until the oil is 3 inches deep into it and turn on medium heat.
  2. Pour the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and paprika into a bowl – this is the dredge.
  3. Crack 2 eggs and whisk it in a bowl.
  4. Place the chicken drum sticks on a plate.
  5. Sprinkle Adobo seasoning on both sides of the chicken drumsticks.
  6. Place the plate of chicken at the head of the line, then the flour mixture, and then the egg mixture, followed by a separate plate for the completely dredged drumstick.
  7. Place a drumstick in the flour until well coated.
  8. Then place it in the egg mixture.
  9. Put it back into the flour mixture, roll it around, and set aside.
  10. Repeat steps 6 through 8 for the remaining drumsticks.
  11. Once the oil is hot, place 4-5 drumsticks in the dutch oven.
  12. Let it sit in the oil for 10- 15 mins and then turn with a metal fork or metal tongs. Each time you turn it, the rotated side should be a golden brown hue.
  13. When it appears they are done, completely golden brown, take a food thermometer and check to see if they are around 165 degrees. If so put them on a plate with a paper towel to cool. If they are not, keep cooking them.
  14. Continue steps 10-12 until the remain drumsticks are done.
  15. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
